Introduction
BrisDoc places a strong emphasis on patient confidentiality, and this relies on our staff truly understanding the importance of safeguarding information while also recognising the value of necessary sharing to improve care.
Information Governance (IG) forms the foundation of delivering quality care. Embracing the good practices outlined in this handbook ensures that information is managed, held accountable, and safeguarded appropriately.
IG ensures that personal data is:
- Processed lawfully, fairly, and transparently
- Collected for specific, legitimate purposes
- Adequate, relevant, and not excessive
- Accurate, up-to-date, and treated with utmost security.
These principles also extend to corporate and commercially sensitive data, and it is the shared responsibility of ALL BrisDoc staff to uphold them.
As we handle substantial amounts of personal and commercially confidential data, we encourage all staff to seamlessly integrate IG standards into their daily practices.
We understand the significance of demonstrating compliance with data protection legislation, and it remains an essential aspect of our commitment to protecting information at BrisDoc.
