Shared Ownership
We are an employee-owned business. Instead of having more traditional ‘shareholders’, all of BrisDoc’s shares are now owned by the ‘Employee-Owned Trust’, which holds the shares on behalf of all employees. This means that you, as employees, collectively own the company and have a real influence over the direction and success of our services.
Co-owners Council
The Co-owners Council has representatives from each service and has many key roles that allow you to participate as co-owners.
This includes:
- Discussing issues that are prevalent to your work and generating ideas for recommendation
- Being a sounding board for company decisions
- Creating an additional channel of communication between co-owners and the Board
BrisDoc’s Boards
You can become an active member on our Green, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, or Wellbeing Boards, and have a key role in making BrisDoc a great place to work.
If you’re interested in joining one of our Boards, please contact:
- Green – any of the representatives listed on the Green Hub
- Equity, Diversity & Inclusion – workforcesupport@brisdoc.org
- Wellbeing Leads – brisdoc.wellbeing@nhs.net
Suggestions Box
If you have a suggestion on ways in which we can improve any area of BrisDoc, please let us know by filling out the online suggestions form (you can choose to be anonymous). Your suggestion could be ways in which we can improve patient care, or maybe you have an idea of ways we can make BrisDoc a better place to work.
Our Voice – BrisDoc’s Annual Co-Owners Survey
Our Voice allows you to provide us with genuine, honest, anonymous feedback to support towards the improvement and growth of BrisDoc. From this, we can understand where we need to focus organisation development to enhance our culture.
Wellbeing Hub
You can find plenty of resources to support your physical, emotional, financial, and social wellness on the Wellbeing Hub. You can also request support from our BrisDoc Wellbeing Leads here.
The Employee Assistance Programme provides help 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and can support you with your mental health and wellbeing. Call the EAP on 0800 083 3375 or visit the Hub to access their services online.
You will receive a Quarterly Wellbeing Survey, which provides a ‘temperature check‘ of how staff are feeling across our services. Your health and well-being remains of the utmost importance to us, and therefore we want to understand how our staff are coping with life’s challenges.
Long Service Award
After ten years’ service with us, you will be invited to a celebratory lunch to recognise your commitment to the organisation.
Social Events
We like to organise social events for staff across the organisation to boost morale and reconnect people. Previous events include: Summer BBQ Party, Christmas Party, rounders tournaments, sponsored walk/run etc.
Outside of the organisation, you have access to sites such as Concerts for Carers and Blue Light Tickets, that offer free tickets to live music, sports events, attractions and festivals.
BrisDoc Community Fund
The purpose of the BrisDoc Community Fund is to ring fence an agreed percentage of our financial surplus year on year to:
- make a difference to local communities by improving health and as a consequence people’s life chances
- support people in need in the UK and in the developing world
- harness the motivation and skills of our workforce to support agreed initiatives
- help address the gap between what is publicly funded and the health needs of specific communities and groups
As a co-owner, you may want to contribute to this initiative which could include a number of options such as:
- one-off fundraising events (with a focus on health & wellbeing and inequality)
- contributions of time, practical support or specific
If you wish to get involved and attend the Community Fund meetings, please contact community.fund@nhs.net
Shine is our space to share news, celebrations, and ‘thank you’s with each other – you can post new items and interact with co-owners’ posts and comments by logging into Shine here. If you’d like to shine a light on a co-owner who has helped you recently, or delivered some excellent care, use the ‘Recognise’ function and tell everyone how much you appreciate them!
