BrisDoc is committed to supporting your continuous learning and development. In light of this, there are a number of training courses which you are required to do, either because it is a statutory requirement, i.e. it is legal to do so, or it is mandatory i.e. it is requirement from CQC, or our commissioners or BrisDoc believe it is important for you to do in light of the role that you perform.
The Development Hub
You can find all the training you are required to complete on the Development Hub. The BrisDoc Development Hub is your gateway to learning and development, offering a streamlined and comprehensive approach to meet all your training needs – it’s a single point of access for all your training needs.
Some of your training will be completed through e-learning, and some will require you to book onto a webinar or face-to-face session. All this can be done through the Development Hub. If you require further information, please contact your manager or the People Team on 0117 9370900 / workforcesupport@brisdoc.org.
Should you wish to attend any courses outside of the normal mandatory / statutory courses, you will need to discuss this further with your line manager during your PDR. Please refer to the Training & Development Policy for further details.
Further development
If you identify an area where you require development in order to deliver in your role effectively, BrisDoc will support you to undertake the relevant and required training. Firstly, have a conversation with your manager.
Training outside of your statutory and mandatory requirement will be either ‘core’ or ‘desirable’ training.
- Core training is where the skills / knowledge / capabilities achieved on the course are necessary in order to fulfil the requirements of the role
- Desirable training is where the skills / knowledge / capabilities achieved on the course support the individual’s career development (as part of their Continuous Professional Development) rather than being an immediate benefit to the workplace or necessary for their current responsibilities.
Whether the training you have identified is funded and study leave supported depends on whether it is core or desirable – you can find more information on BrisDoc’s Training Development Policy here.
The Training and Development Request Form can be found here.
