‘We all determine the culture of our workplace’
Our goal is for every member of team BrisDoc to truly understand, embrace, and live the BrisDoc way. BrisDoc actively encourages a culture that centres on balancing each of our 5 values. Key features of this include caring for others, both patients and colleagues, through openness and transparency, treating them fairly and consistently, listening and engaging, and taking shared responsibility – patient care by people who care.
We are an Employee-Owned Social Enterprise
We are an employee-owned business, which means that you, as co-owners and employees, collectively own the company and have a real influence over the direction and success of our services. Being a Social Enterprise means the decisions we make are for the good of our patients, workforce, and wider community as a whole. This involves prioritising the health of our patients, protecting our environment, and improving the social and economic status of our population.
We celebrate Diversity
“My manager treats me with dignity and respect” was our highest scoring individual question from our 2023 Our Voice staff survey. BrisDoc is a Disability Confident Employer, Mindful Employer, and part of the Bristol Equality Charter – among many other accreditations.
Our workforce is reflective of our local communities – in fact we have a higher number of Black and Mixed Race co-owners than is representative of Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire.
We support disabled co-owners to be their best through Reasonable Adjustments and an occupational health service.
We attend Pride yearly and demonstrate our support for the LGBTQ+ community by proudly wearing our rainbow lanyards and badges.
We know we still have a way to go, and have an Equity, Diversity & Inclusion strategy and working group to continuously improve our services and organisation.
