Digital & IT Handbook – Introduction
This handbook is designed to support Shift Managers working within the SevernSide IUC service to confidently manage digital and IT-related issues during clinical shifts. It provides clear guidance on how to identify, troubleshoot, and escalate common problems involving core clinical systems such as EMIS Web, Connecting Care, and CloudCall.
It also outlines the correct procedures for reporting incidents, logging calls, and liaising with the Digital Team, external suppliers, or the Manager on Call when necessary. The handbook includes step-by-step instructions for resolving frequent technical problems and administering smartcards, alongside quick-access reference guides for telephony systems and secure network connections.
